MIDDLEBURG HEIGHTS, Ohio, Nov. 17, 2005 – Associated Software Consultants, Inc. (ASC), a provider of loan automation software to the mortgage industry, announced today that New York-based Apple Bank for Savings upgraded to PowerLender?, ASC’s Java-based loan origination system (LOS). Apple Bank for Savings began using PowerLender in October. PowerLender enables the bank to more easily make customizations, extending the life of the system, and generates long-term cost savings by simplifying future upgrades. The bank can also choose to run PowerLender from a wide variety of operating platforms currently available, including Windows or Linux, should the need arise. “We chose PowerLender because we had been using UNI-FORM, ASC’s original LOS, since 1995 and realized that it would be more efficient and cost-effective to move to PowerLender” said George Bossis, senior vice president of Apple Bank for Savings. “Because PowerLender is so flexible and can run on a wide variety of computing platforms, we will be able to use PowerLender for a decade or more.“ PowerLender is designed to help financial institutions reduce operating costs and boost longterm profitability. The Java-based LOS is also compatible with any of the popular database programs, such as Oracle or MS SQL Server, and open-source MySQL. “PowerLender is important to users like Apple Bank because it helps manage the origination process, from prequalification to closing and funding,” said Tim Liston, president of ASC. ”Apple Bank is able to utilize the benefits of PowerLender’s flexibility, providing a cost-effective solution that increases functionality and reduces the need to completely replace the system every few years.” About Apple Bank for Savings About Associated
