MIDDLEBURG HEIGHTS, OH, June 22, 2009 - Associated Software Consultants, Inc. (ASC), today announced that its PowerLender® loan origination software system now offers lenders the ability to upload loan files to the US Department of Agriculture’s Guaranteed Underwriting System (GUS) as the USDA’s lending programs become more popular with prospective home buyers. PowerLender successfully completed a series of compatibility tests for submitting files to the USDA’s GUS using both the MISMO AUS 2.3.1 .xml format as well as the Fannie Mae DU/DU3.2 format, making it one of the few LOS systems to do so. The USDA Rural Development Program, which offers loans that do not require a down payment or private mortgage insurance, traditionally offered loans for low- and very-low-income homeowners. However its guaranteed loan program, which is open to borrowers with higher incomes, has been one of the agency's most popular offerings of late. “We have seen an increase in the number of our lenders who have requested this capability,” said John Liston, head of LOS development for ASC, “PowerLender’s design allows us to quickly adapt the system to the demands of the lending climate.” PowerLender is a full-featured, flexible, business-rules-based system capable of processing mortgage and consumer loans. It is available as a traditional desktop or as a hosted system running in a secured, off-site environment, requiring only a PC or laptop and an Internet connection to quickly access program features and loan records anytime, anywhere. PowerLender is a result of 30 years of industry experience on the part of ASC, and is available on a subscription basis. About Associated
