PowerLender
PowerDocs™ Remote Document Delivery System

Built-In Remote Document Delivery Capability

Not often found among rich-client loan origination and processing systems, PowerLender offers a fully integrated document routing system. PowerDocs was developed by ASC especially for PowerLender users. It's not just a third-party product running alongside your existing LOS.

A Unique Document Viewing & Printing System

Key to the PowerDocs Remote Document Delivery System is its unique, built-in document preview and printing capability called the PowerDocs Viewer. The PowerDocs Viewer has the ability to display documents in their exact final form prior to printing. The PowerDocs Viewer is used by document recipients such as closing agents, title companies, brokers, or any other business partner, and best of all, the PowerDocs Viewer is absolutely free!

PowerLender Preview Screen

The PowerDocs Viewer allows document recipients to preview and print a single document or an entire stage of documents. PowerDocs built-in logic even recognizes and discriminates between portrait and landscape docs, letter or legal docs, duplexed docs, and even multiple copies of a doc within a stage of docs intended for batch printing.

The PowerDocs Viewer helps save resources by eliminating the need to print documents in order to check for accuracy. Since the PowerDocs Viewer is written in Java, lenders don't have to be running Windows PCs. The PowerDocs Viewer is easy to install and update, and it’s free to download from our website.

How Document Routing Works

A lender can send a document package to a secure PowerDocs ‘gateway’ PC from their PowerLender system. This package can consist of one or a hundred or more loan documents. The document packages are specified via the lender-defined stages set up in PowerLender. Designating or sending these document packages is done by choosing the option from the PowerLender menu, much like printing. The recipient is then chosen by the same method, via a menu. Brokers, title companies, etc. are all available via PowerLender tables.

The document package(s) are sent to a secure PowerDocs ‘gateway’ PC. PowerLender immediately notifies the recipient by e-mail that a document package is now available. No sensitive information is contained in the e-mail, only an alert stating that the package is available. The text message alert can be customized and is sent from the e-mail server rather than from the client themselves.

Once notified, the recipient first opens up their free PowerDocs Viewer, then logs in using their name and secured password. Recipients can view the list of sent packages via a pulldown menu. When a package is chosen, each document name within the package is displayed. Documents can then be viewed and/or printed. PowerDocs assures security with encrypted passwords with forced changes, and the PowerDocs Viewer’s security requirements follow SAS-70 compliance guidelines.

PowerDocs Uses Industry Standard XMPP/Jabber Instant Messaging Technology

PowerDocs delivers loan documents to your business partners over the Internet using the Extensible Messaging and Presence Protocol (XMPP), which is the Internet standard for instant messaging (IM). XMPP is the foundation of the popular Jabber IM network, which is both free and open, and which is seeing rapid adoption by industry, the government and the military. Jabber is making its rapid gains in the IM arena at the expense of proprietary IM offerings from AIM, Yahoo!, MSN and others. XMPP uses a direct Internet connection so your documents are delivered in real time. XMPP requires strict authentication so you know who you're connected with, and uses end-to-end encryption to make sure nobody can read or change your documents. And XMPP uses an XML data structure, so XMPP is perfectly suited for future MISMO SMART Doc delivery.

Using XMPP, PowerDocs avoids the document delivery problems of other document delivery systems. For example, email document delivery is insecure and unreliable. To get to its recipient(s), email flows through servers you do not control and cannot trust. Web-based document delivery does not fare much better. While you can encrypt Web-delivered documents to make sure nobody can view or change them, the Web is a stateless "pull" medium that gives you no assurance that your documents are delivered. Email and Web delivery methods just weren't designed with security and reliability in mind. XMPP, the IM standard chosen by ASC, is fully secure and highly reliable.
